Ordering & Delivery
Can I modify or cancel my order?
Yes, you can modify or cancel your order within 48 hours of placing it. After that, orders are final to ensure timely delivery.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
No! Our meal kits are packed with dry ice to ensure they stay frozen until you're home. As soon as you arrive, please pop them into the freezer immediately. About to head off on vacation? Hold off on ordering until you get back—our meals can only last up to 24 hours outside the freezer, and trust us, they’re not big fans of warm weather. No one wants a soupy surprise waiting at their doorstep 😆
How do I place an order?
You can place an order directly through our website. You can either shop by ingredients—adding as many as you like to your cart—or shop by recipes, which include a combination of pre-selected ingredients for a complete meal. Once you've made your selection, head to checkout, where you can choose between a one-time purchase or a subscription plan. Our subscription options allow you to receive your meal kits weekly, monthly, or on a schedule that works best for you. We’ll take care of the rest!
How long does delivery take?
You can choose your preferred delivery day using the delivery calendar at checkout. We currently dispatch orders twice a week—on Mondays and Thursdays—so you can select the option that works best for you!
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to the entire United Kingdom, with the exception of certain areas. These include all postcodes beginning with BT (Northern Ireland), IM (Isle of Man), JE (Jersey), and GY (Guernsey). Additionally, we do not deliver to certain remote or outlying regions of Scotland where delivery times fall outside our standard schedule. These areas include KA27 and KA28 (Ayrshire), AB31 to AB56 (Grampian), IV1 to IV63 and KW1 to KW14 (Inverness and Highlands), KW15 to KW17 (Orkney), PH15 to PH50 (Perthshire), PH19 to PH41 and PH49 to PH50 (Highlands), PA20 to PA78, HS1 to HS9, and PH42 to PH44 (Argyll and Scottish Islands), ZE1 to ZE3 (Shetland), and FK16 to FK21 (Stirlingshire). For larger Orders or delivery outside these areas, please reach out to us to arrange alternate delivery options.

Each individual item has cooking instructions on the back of the label, which serve as a guide—actual cooking times may vary depending on the appliance used. We’ve got you covered! Chefees has a Nutrition Page with a tracker where you can input our different ingredients and see which ones align with your diet or preferences. What are the storage conditions for Chefees?
Chefees meals should be stored in a freezer. As soon as you receive your delivery, pop it into the freezer and keep it there until you're ready to consume. This ensures food safety, maximum freshness and quality.
What food safety certifications do you have?
At Chefees, we take food safety and quality seriously. Our production facility is certified to the highest international standards, including:

What is the freezer shelf life for Chefees?
Chefees meals last for up to a year! Check the best-before date on the back of the label for the individual expiry dates of each product.
Can I add my own ingredients to the meals?
Absolutely — our meals are made to work with your style. Feel free to mix things up by adding your favourite veggies, grains, pasta, noodles, or proteins. Throw in some chilli flakes, a squeeze of lemon, fresh herbs, or your go-to seasonings. Top it with a garnish, drizzle with your favourite sauce, or build it into something bigger — a wrap, a salad, or even a rice bowl. There are no rules — make it your own!
Can I refreeze the meals once they’ve been defrosted?
No, we don’t recommend refreezing once a meal has been defrosted. Not only can it affect the texture and quality, but it’s also not considered food-safe. For the best and safest experience, cook and enjoy your meal once fully thawed.
Do I need to defrost the meals before cooking?
Yes, fully defrost your Chefees meals before cooking. This ensures even cooking and the best texture and flavour. Here are a few easy ways to defrost safely:
Overnight in the fridge: Simply place the sealed pack in the fridge the night before. This is the safest method and keeps your food at a safe temperature. In a bowl of cold or lukewarm water: If you're short on time, place the sealed pack (unopened) in a bowl of cold or gently warm water for 15–30 minutes. Avoid using hot water as it can partially cook the edges. Same-day fridge defrost: Forgot to plan ahead? Leave the pack in the fridge first thing in the morning and it should be ready by dinner.
How do I know when my meal is fully cooked?
Each item comes with suggested cooking times listed on the label, but it’s also helpful to rely on visual and texture cues. Your food should be heated through and piping hot all the way to the center. For example, with fish, you can test doneness by gently pressing a fork into the thickest part — it should flake easily and the fork should go through without resistance. If it does, you're good to go!
I don't have a lot of time — what's the quickest way to prepare a Chefees meal?
Microwaving is usually the fastest option, especially when you're short on time — although pan frying or baking in the oven will give you the best texture and flavour. Just be sure to defrost first and use a microwave-safe plate or bowl.
What cooking methods can I use?
We’ve included step-by-step instructions for pan fry, oven, and microwave to make things easy — but feel free to cook your meals however you normally would for these types of dishes. You can air fry, steam, or even try a boil-in-bag (sous vide style). The instructions we provide are just a guide — you’re welcome to use the method that suits your kitchen and your style best.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?
Yes! We use recyclable packaging whenever possible. Our meal kits are designed to minimize waste while keeping your food fresh. Our pouches can be recycled at large supermarkets, our labels are fully recyclable, and our carton boxes can go straight into your recycling bin. Do you offer refunds or replacements?
We do not offer refunds unless there is an issue with your order (e.g., incorrect or damaged items). In the unlikely event that this happens, please reach out to us, and we’ll make it right by offering a refund, replacement, or vouchers for a future purchase. Your satisfaction is our priority!
How do I cancel my order?
If you wish to request a cancellation, you must notify us within forty-eight (48) hours of delivery. To apply for a cancellation, please reach out to us at support@chefees.co.uk and submit the following within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving your order for our review:
